My understanding is that powder coating is very durable. 

 

What's the color of the surrounding pieces?

Same here. The key is cleanliness of the surface and giving it enough "tooth" for the powder to grip into. A random obit DA sander with a 180-grit disc roughs up the surface just enough to give good grip and the flow out hides the sanding marks.

That’s also the more costly route, which shouldn’t matter as there’s a fortune into this already!

I vote just paint. It's gonna get some scratches, and you can't touch up or repair powder coat.

That's my thought, just have to mark and drill the mounting holes first, didn't trust the measure and drill method, not always true!

Plus not like I'm going to go do fields all summer...sqrlgtr:confusion-confused:
