702854boy 408 #1 Posted 7 hours ago Yesterday we brought home my grandpa's 1967 Cub Cadet 122 so I could tear into and replace a headgasket, reseal the motor, fix the clutch, fix some fatigue welds, go through the mower deck, get it all degreased, flush and refill tranny, and probably some other stuff that I cant think if off the top of my head. Anyways, I have been taking photos as I go along. And when we were taking it off the trailer the left front spindle broke so I'm in need of one of those. 5 4
ri702bill 10,972 #2 Posted 1 hour ago That broken LF spindle looks awfully busy. It is the Master side, the RF is moved by it thru the tierod. Is the LF a 3-piece assembly - lower, shaft and upper or are the lower and shaft 2 parts welded into one?? Looks repairable if you cannot find a good used one. 702854boy 408 #3 Posted 24 minutes ago The top part that the steering box hooks up to is roll pinned onto the spindle but the part that goes through the axle and the part on the wheel is supposed to be one piece and from the looks of it, its going to be a pain in the butt to weld if we have to because the bottom part needs to be flat since it goes right against the axle.
