Bad work day today.

Worked on the mule drive tensioner again. Neighbor came over to check on me. The knob broke off and it's cross threaded, so my neighbor said. I'm gonna cut my losses with a grinder. :bitch:Still applyin' Liquid Wrench to the nut so I can get the belt out of the mule. Applyin' to everything I think I may need to loosen. Drive belt & clutch looks to be in good condition. My air compressor is suddenly poppin' the reset button. :rant2: Ya would know I got it in the corner of the shed blocked by my garden wagon, Cub Cadet XT1 & rear bagger & my snowblower & walk behind mower. :angry-screaming: Luckily, I have a portable compressor for operating air nailers, etc., in the house. I blew all the debris off the top and around the tranny & rear and start applyin' Liquid Wrench to the linkages. I found the bracket that goes across the top of the battery on top of the tranny? :confusion-shrug:

cross threaded,

It is not. If you cross thread a nut/bolt set the bolt cannot come out the far side of the nut not being stripped. It is not crossed, don't cut it.

Heat it up glowing red, quench it, it'll spin right off. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I don't think my hand held mapp torch will get it that hot, but I'll try. I got a propane weed burner, maybe? be my luck it would melt. :laughing-lettersrofl:

953 nut

:text-bravo: Put the mule drive back on the tractor so the weight of the tractor will hold it and then use a couple feet of pipe to extend your wrench's leverage. Another option would be to drill the bolt out with gradually bigger bits until it reaches the threads on one side of the nut.

By the way    :hide:   it is right hand thread.

Got a lot of experience with cheater pipes! Changed 6inch fittings on vacuum trucks with a 5 foot pipe wrench & cheater pipes. Couldn't use heat due to products that were vacuumed into the trucks.

I figure there is a guy on here @Ed Kennell might have one of those parts or mule drives you need in a bucket.??

Might cross paths, his prices are fair too.

Mapp gets hotter than propane, and size of flame does not equal more heat where it needs to be.

You need acetylene.
