That would make it a high amperage one I don't know if most are like that. 2
c-series don 10,935 #3 Posted January 1 I’m guessing there’s no solenoid with that switch? I’ve never seen one like that on a Wheel Horse? Not saying it didn’t come that way though.
rmaynard 16,771 #4 Posted January 1 I replaced the high amperage switch with a standard switch and installed a solenoid. 2

ri702bill 10,947 #6 Posted January 1 Agreed. Sounds loke it's time for a longevity upgrade - low amp. switch, solenoid AND an inline fuse in a weather resistant holder for the "BAT" terminal... My ... 1
rmaynard 16,771 #7 Posted January 1 I think that the B-100/C-120 had the simplest wiring diagram for tractors of that era. Only fuse in the whole wiring harness was in the accessory hookup to the lights on the C's. Just me

Just me After 50 or so years of thermal cycling the wiring, it's all the more reason to add one on the charging circuit...
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,917 #9 Posted January 1 Be careful selecting the switch. The Charger 12 used both magneto ignition and battery ignition with both requiring specific switch designs. Post the tractor model number so we can direct you to the correct switch. 1
markseven 84 #10 Posted January 1 I converted it to battery ignition years ago . This switch still works great just looking for a backup just in case. Im sure its a factory switch . If its unavailable I will probably go to a remote solenoid. Quality parts are hard to come by.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,917 #11 Posted January 2 Early 1968 models had battery ignition and used this switch #7263. This switch carried the heavy starter load. Very expensive at $136 at Parts Tree. Late 1968 models had magneto ignition and used a similar switch but for magneto ignition. In 1972 some models went back to battery ignition and added a solenoid which eliminated the heavy wiring to the 92-6785 switch. Much more efficient going from battery to solenoid to starter. 7263 switch 92-6785 switch with 4 key positions now $94 at Parts Tree A better replacement switch for a solenoid and battery ignition is switch 103990 with 3 key positions now $30 at Parts Tree. Less expensive and available everywhere. Used the above for price comparison. Shop around.
