There are actually a few "barn finds" out there, but the cost to restore, not even update, one requires cubic money...Same goes for 55-57 4 door sedans. Plenty out there, seen a few videos about converting them into 2 door versions.

The best way to buy them is done or nearly done, let the seller take the hit for all the parts and labor to make it presentable.

953 nut 63,346 #15 Posted December 30, 2025 An electrical contractor I worked for had a couple of old Ford Econoline vans that were used for jobsite storage trailers. Not too bad for a low budget operation.

We tarp ours to keep out the SUN 🌞 ☀️ The rain & snow does very little damage to the top or its sealers. Ice jams and dams definitely can be an issue. It's the sun that kills them - like many other things. We have a half 🫏 plan to use the frame of a portable garage as the main structure for a storage space for this camper and some other items. As stated above.... we ran outta time because of the need to take care of Trina's Momma's living space needs this year. Hopefully..... next year we can play catch up. 1

I do like keeping the WH's inside. or at least under the lean to. Especially good for keeping the seats from cracking etc. I have a 17x8 box trailer and I do nothing to it, other than putting stabilizers under the four corners so I can drive the tractors in and out. It seems to take the weather fine. well made one piece top. I kind of went down this rabbit hole and I see this is a back and forth topic on the net for a camper tho. People talking about getting tops resealed for winter, special rv covers, specific instructions on interior prep etc. Could be a compulsive issue, IDK https://campthatsite.com/2025/09/18/why-tarp-your-rv-valuable-tips-to-make-the-right-decision/

Other folks simply can't believe the "no cover" people are allowed in a campground. Oh.... the horror!! Division. Like we need more. 😬 Like you, all of our equipment is outta the sun.

This is my 27’ Dutchmen…I was told that tarping it was fine as long as you didn’t completely enclose it, like with a tarp that went all the way to the bottom of the camper or wrapped up under it. Was told it needed to breathe, so I used a cheap tarp that covered the entire roof and down the sides just a few feet. 1
