ML3 2,113 #76 Posted January 24 I just turned heat up in garage. -12 this morning. I leave heat set @40° in garage so nothing freezes. Since garage is very well insulated it warms up quick. Gonna get out on 654 & plow the couple inches off driveway before the big snow predicted to start later today comes. 3

Opened the door this morning to let the dog out, and he just looked at me like I was stupid and ran back to his doggie bed. I think he's pretty smart. 1

Achto 30,745 #80 Posted January 26 Could not handle another day of boredom so I decided to warm the shop up & do something. Took a bit to get it from 7F to 60F but once there I was able to get the sheet metal blasted. Started the filler work on the hood. It was littered with several dings. 4
Achto 30,745 #81 Posted February 2 (edited) Weekend up date..... Finished the body work on the hood, with all the hand sanding with a block it should be strait as an arrow. Seems the tranny does not need to come apart, I wire wheeled it to strip the paint off. I pulled a 8" plow apart, sandblasted & painted it. Note: I did not blast the polished surface of the share or moldboard. Hard to see all the parts in the pic. Question - Did use a decal on the early 60's implements, if so what did they look like ? Weather permitting I hope to make some paint fly next weekend. Edited February 2 by Achto 3

If I remember and that a big IF, I'll look at some of my literature for the early stuff and see what the pictures of the implements show me. 2

Achto 30,745 #86 Posted 12 hours ago Spent some quality time with my spray gun today. It has been almost a year since we've been together. Sheet metal all received a generous build up of urethane primer. Seat and rims are now blanketed in IH Off White.

Nice Job!! All you do on your stuff is a real restore compared to just a simple spray bomb job on some of the sheet metal with new decals then call it "restored". 3 1

See a few of them at the BS and they are quite proud of them. Not to mention the paint brush jobs. Now you know why I took up work clothes & patinas. Oh well to each his own.

That's the sacrifice of winter time painting! Not to mention the heat bill for the shop. I don't paint much but I still have red tinted everything! Ya know, I didn't really think of it that way but you're 100% absolutely right! There's something to be said for a lot less aggravation! Bugs in the new paint really sucks bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHX?? 54,397 #94 Posted 22 minutes ago The vintage plow I got from @stevasaurus has got that same one that's why I thought that's what they used. He restored it tho so maybe he just put that on there because it looked good

Park my truck 5 blocks away upwind and still have red paint on the clay bar when I detail it!

It was an old POS furnace fan I rigged up in a window. Can't believe it still runs. We have a little hot water coil ceiling heater in one of the generator rooms at work. The fan motor died one winter and we needed heat fast so I hung one of those 9W refrigeration fans up there. It's hung with zip ties strung together. Been up there close to 15 years!
