My tool box is pretty well organized, but my sockets? Well that is another story! 😂

Nicely done.

We have a set that lives in the toolbox. Most of those are on "rails." Some are still in the plastic hinged boxes they came in.

The mobile set is a 3/8" drive impact set on a magnetic dish tray holder. That lives occasionally on the outer wall of the tool box but usually is just setting with whatever job is going on.  Those are by far the most commonly used set.

When I was younger, I could lift this entire rack of sockets out of the box and load it in the truck. Not anymore! 838109581avatar

For years I've just had my sockets in drawers assorted by driver size.  In many cases, I have three or more sockets of the same size and point making it difficult to find the size I need.  I know a person can purchase holders but I wanted something that fit my drawers and needs.  These socket sets seldom, if ever, leave  the shop as I have other smaller sets I carry in the pickup.

I used scraps of wood and the pictures show what I came up with. I can add more pins for additional sockets as needed.  The spares I wired into "necklaces" and hung them on screws out of the way.  I've got a couple of lifetimes of sockets.

In a few weeks, I'll bring the 520H into the shop for it's annual going over and hopefully I won't have to dig among the sockets scattered in drawers.

It is amazing how good we can make something work for us when we have  TIME !
