Snowblower (96-42ST01) Upper Pulley Spacer Placement

Recommended Posts

Quick, and probably dumb, question: Where does the frame of the blower assembly itself fit in this diagram (Blue Line, Red Line, or Green Line) between washer (#42) and spacer (#34)?

Chain jammed and I removed the pulley to clear the chain, in the process, I hadn't realized the spacer and didn't register where it was originally. The parts schematic doesn't make it idiot-proof clear where the space goes in relation to the blower side wall itself.

Thanks for any help you can give!

I don't have a blower to check, but if that #34 is a lock washer, it's a gimmi that it goes under the bolt head. So blower housing would be your red line.

If that sprocket is in a slot for adjustment, then it may be a flat washer and it still goes under the bolt head.

Then install the shim washer(s) that give you a straight run of the chain without adding a side load to it....
