Got here a few minutes ago. I will still tape it ,but like the cover and its pockets.
MainelyWheelhorse 2,845 #52 Posted July 3 @Brockport Bill Well, I need to come up with something different. I caught it on something mowing the fire station lawn and almost ripped it off. I think if I stiffen it around the holes, it would last longer as that was the only spot with issues.

I look at a tractor I haven’t used in a while and think I should sell it. Then I use it for whatever reason and think no, I like this tractor, I don’t want to sell it!! Same here, I’m running out of room but then I grade the driveway with my plow tractor or take a ride on the C-141 I built and think,“Nah, I’ll figure something out to use this for.” Edited July 5 by MainelyWheelhorse
c-series don 12,097 #54 Posted July 3 @MainelyWheelhorse How about if you sandwiched that piece with a piece of 1”x1”x1/8” angle iron? Not flat stock, angle iron with give it much greater strength. 1
EthanL 52 #55 Posted July 3 Hauling water out of the creek to water the garden. A pump set up would be nice but I haven’t gotten there yet

MainelyWheelhorse 2,845 #59 Posted July 5 (edited) I had to set this up today. For an idea that popped into my head right before I took the picture, it came out great. Edited July 5 by MainelyWheelhorse

My back .40 is far more brutal. The last Predator motor tolerated it for about 12 years. I just put a new Hemi Predator on this spring. The old one still ran, it just got low on compression over the past year or so and was hard to start at times. If i only get half of that out of this one, for $135 it’s no big loss. MainelyWheelhorse 2,845 #66 Posted Friday at 01:11 PM Yesterday I mowed the fire station lawn and mine again with the 312. Before I mowed, I took the C-141 out for reconnaissance to check out the conditions of the fire station’s lawn. The new adjustment knob on the 42” deck worked great. There is something off with the deck though as it’s started making horrendous noises like something is stuck in there. It did it before but came out of it so I’ll have to check that out over the next few days.
rick 300 #67 Posted 7 hours ago Yesterday I cut the grass, 2.9 hours according to the hour meter, which showed 1001.7 hours when I parked it. My mowing rig is a 1979 314-8 with a 1993 78360 48" deck. I bought it around 2018 with a cracked and rotten 42" deck. It apparently had been parked outside all it's life as the reason the older fellow sold it was that the seat had rusted out and broke off throwing him over the back. It's time for an oil change and maybe some special TLC.
adsm08 4,778 #68 Posted 7 hours ago I ran myself over with the 1076 this morning. Looks like I still have to do some adjusting on the motion-control tension. I was trying to investigate the loss of power with the blades engaged and the vibration of the tractor while running is enough to knock it into gear.

The motion control on Wheelamatics is anemic at best relying on two little springs to hold tension on the placstic plate. Here is something I am setting up to put on my neighbors 1075 or my 875. You need to get the motion control with the big cross spring from any later hydro gear or piston to piston sunstrand. It will fit right in the only glitch is the later one had different bend in the control lever. So I cut off the one from the late model and am grafting on a cut off from the older style. Shaft collars and set screws are temp until I check the alignment . 1

My eventual plan is to attempt to rebuild the one I got from you and put it in this tractor. They look very similar externally.
