Tonytoro416 1,286 #1 Posted Monday at 11:54 PM I have a nos tail light for my 953 but am confused on what bulb I need. And now second guessing myself on how to wire it. Help plz
WHX?? 53,181 #2 Posted yesterday at 12:10 AM It's a small base bayonet not sure of the number ... too cold to go out and look ... ...others will be along. For wiring just goes to the headlight switch and ground. If it's like the originals make sure the lens is on securely. May even a dab of silicone if it even feels like it might fall off. Dang near lost mine in the plow field so now just leave it off for fear of that. Tractor 1963 953 Wiring Rev.pdf
Tonytoro416 1,286 #3 Posted yesterday at 12:25 AM So it need a ground coming off one of the spades on the back of tail light ? It’s not grounded through mounting
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,831 #4 Posted yesterday at 03:02 AM The 2775 tail lamp does not show a bulb for the 953 but the same 2775 lamp on a 1054 uses a Wheel Horse 2883 bulb. Have not found an equivalent.
squonk 44,844 #5 Posted 19 hours ago There are probably many bulbs that will work. I'm guessing a GE No. 67 single contact bulb or if it's a double contact a 68. There are many variations of this bulb with different wattages, lumens and life expectancy. 1
WHX?? 53,181 #6 Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Pic of it Tony? if i's only got one wire then most likely grounded through mount. Guessing a NOS one might be as rare as the brass RJ stop button. I'll go out and look to see what bulb is in mine today. Edited 16 hours ago by WHX??
Tonytoro416 1,286 #7 Posted 13 hours ago Takes a double contact 1156 style base but the bulb has to be smaller
Tonytoro416 1,286 #8 Posted 13 hours ago Here I have a mini bulb in it and was barely able to twist bulb to secure it in socket. May work as long as the light projects out of the lense out
Tonytoro416 1,286 #9 Posted 13 hours ago The 67 bulb is physically too small. The bulb in it is a 1004 I think. Long narrow bulb and still almost not long enough

It's just a tail light. Get it too close to the lens and it may melt it Edited 8 hours ago by squonk

PITA to install and remove but they are the proper lamp

The 1004 bulb I had to use masking tape on so I could get it twisted in
