adsm08 3,727 #1 Posted 3 hours ago Is there a difference between the welded and non-welded cylinders, beyond the obvious of one being welded together and the other not? I swapped in a non-welded cylinder today that I picked up at the show (no idea what it was originally off of) and the threads were straight instead of pipe thread, 5/16 instead of 1/4 inch, and I had to add another hole to the lift link for my plow to get it off the ground going up, but I was almost able to lift the front axle off the ground going down, which I had never been able to do before. It dropped right in place, but it's almost like it is operating in a different length range. I'm just curious at this point. The whole point of it was so the tractor wasn't down while I send the welded one out to get resealed.

pfrederi 19,114 #5 Posted 35 minutes ago I guess your 855 gear drive has an HY2/3?? added for lift?? That is older than i am familiar with. Charger/electros and later hydros welded cylinders were SAE5
Bar Nuthin 1,679 #6 Posted 20 minutes ago (edited) When I added an older lift kit to a newer Hydro, I had to find adapters that went from ORB-6 down to ORB-5. Sounds like you need to do just the opposite. Or contact Lowell @wheelhorseman and have him make you a set with ORB-6 fittings at the cylinder.
