1975 Sundstrand end seal(s) ?

I have a leak at or near the end of the transmission pump on my 1975 C160 Automatic. Is there a common problem or place to start looking?

Possibly this end cap?

The picture is the Hydro motor not the pump.  I can't see the leak...

There are no seals on the motor just gaskets between it and the transaxle, and an O ring behind the circular end plate of the motor.  There are also o rings to seal the acceleration valve on the front and back of the motor but I have not seen them leak.

There's a puddle on the floor but I wiped off the transmission before getting the picture.

That's been replaced but obviously could still be a source.

I'd start here...

How do I find the oring size? Remove it and bring to a hydraulic shop?

Make sure the control shaft seal isn't leaking and  clinging to the frame making it look like something else.

Also make sure it's not leaking at the input shaft. They can mist fluid and the hydro fan will spread fluid to parts unkown making it look like it's leaking from somewhere else.

Sunstrand hydo leaks are 99% of the time pump input seal, motion control o rings or hydro hose failures...and manifold leaks on D series.  That your motor is painted black makes me wonder if some one separated it from the pump.  Is the pump black also???

If someone did separate the pump and motor then that is a potential leak just like the manifold leaks on D series.

Wipe it down and see if you can isolate the leak point

Based on experience with WH O-ring part numbers i would say #92 is a Dash 132

That was us when we restored the whole tractor.

The black color adds contrast to the sea of red and also supposedly cools the unit better.
