ebinmaine 75,082 #1 Posted 14 hours ago I have a leak at or near the end of the transmission pump on my 1975 C160 Automatic. Is there a common problem or place to start looking? Possibly this end cap?
pfrederi 19,099 #2 Posted 14 hours ago The picture is the Hydro motor not the pump. I can't see the leak...
pfrederi 19,099 #3 Posted 13 hours ago There are no seals on the motor just gaskets between it and the transaxle, and an O ring behind the circular end plate of the motor. There are also o rings to seal the acceleration valve on the front and back of the motor but I have not seen them leak.

There's a puddle on the floor but I wiped off the transmission before getting the picture. 21 minutes ago, pfrederi said: gaskets between it and the transaxle, That's been replaced but obviously could still be a source. 21 minutes ago, pfrederi said: and an O ring behind the circular end plate of the motor I'd start here... How do I find the oring size? Remove it and bring to a hydraulic shop?
squonk 44,794 #5 Posted 12 hours ago Make sure the control shaft seal isn't leaking and clinging to the frame making it look like something else.

Also make sure it's not leaking at the input shaft. They can mist fluid and the hydro fan will spread fluid to parts unkown making it look like it's leaking from somewhere else.
