The idler pulley pushes down from the outside of the belt on an RJ for the belt tension. Raises up to release by the pedal. Some can be difficult to get the belt to slip clutch on the engine pulley and especially with a brand new belt. Fine tweaking and adjustments of the engine mounting bolts should get you there. But that's something to address once the engine is fired up. Sometimes it just works as should right off the bat. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
