702854boy 308 #1 Posted 5 hours ago What are all of you guys that build your tractors for plowing using for a lift cable? Is there a better alternative other than the stock way that stretches or snap the lift cable? This evening I was getting ready to go try plowing with my 864 and i had just made it into the yard when the ball on the end of the lift cable, the cable snapped right in front of it and it dug into the yard. According to dad, him and my grandpa had to replace the lift cable on our 702 quite often when they were trying to do the same type of stuff. It's just a tad annoying having the cable stretch or snap and by now someone has had to come with a better way to do this.
WHX?? 53,058 #2 Posted 5 hours ago I just had one that pulled the ball neatly off. Brand new one from Lowell. If yours was from him give it back to him he'll replace it. Plowing requires a spare to be on the shelf. Only work around is to get longer cable and cable clamps. Any hardware store.

I'm not quite sure who we got it from, I think we got it from the big show last year and if i remember correctly it was from one of the dudes in the stall closest to the food area thingy
