horseman with no horse 55 #1 Posted 16 hours ago i cant find a belt size i would need for a long frame for my 32 inch snow thrower. also does anyone know the optimal hole in the lift arm to stick the flag into? it doesnt seem to be raising up properly. i got it on my Onan swapped c120-s davidtmercer built me lol. also what would be the best way to put tire chains on the tires? i dont even know where to begin with that. where to buy them/make them? and sizes? ri702bill 10,086 #4 Posted 11 hours ago (edited) Evean - chains on tires. A few things. Start off with chains sized for your tires. I assume you are using turf or snow tires? Remove one tire / rim from the tractor and deflate it. Stand the tire up, lace the center of the length of chains over the top. The S hook goes on the inside, the over-center clasp on the outside. Super important - the hooks that hold the cross links to the side chains must lay flat on the sidewalls - all too easy to install the chains inside out. Get the chains evenly spaced as possible. Next - the fun part you only need to do once. You may need to remove a side chain link or two to get a good snug fit at this point. The cross links must be long enough to go across the tread and a bit beyond so that the hooks lay flat against the tire. Once satisfied with the fit, reinflate the tire - it should hold the chains just fine. A tensioner on the inside is up to you if you need it. Chains for V bar AG tires are completely different. If your cross links are too long, the side chains interfere with addind wheel weights... Chains come in 2 styles - 2 link & 4 link. The more cross links, the better the grip and the ride...
