Bought a Kohler for Peco project

Recommended Posts

PWL216

I bought a Kohler SH Series 6.5hp engine for a Peco leaf vac. I took some pics of the packaging and engine, thought I’d share. Looks like it will mount directly to the Peco frame without modification. This was $260 shipped to my house from Small Engine Warehouse.

@ri702bill that’s EXACTLY what I was going to say. As much as I’m all in favor of American made, I have a few of those Honda engines and I must say that they all start right up every time.

:text-yeahthat: Just got out our Honda track snowblower that my grandpa uses around his house, Didn’t run it out of gas or anything. Have it one light pull to prime it then one real put and it literally fired right up!

That engine bracket looks familiar ?  Is that going on one of the Peco set up's ? Hope so, was never much of a fan of the B&S. Still have a bag and frame for you here sometime. Good luck with the refurb. @PWL216

Kohler became International and mover to China years ago, though some are built in the USA.    Honda being made in Japan makes it a favored trading partner product these days and I must say the one on my 12 year old pressure washer has been outstanding.

Even Honda clones are very good engines. I've had one on a gokart I bought for my daughter almost 20 years ago. If it has gas in it that thing still starts on the second pull. Very smooth runner too. Those 45 degree engines all seem to be great for thier size.

Sure does. Here’s a side by side, along with a Predator, for comparison.
