When I do something like that wife meets me at back door, "You might as well throw them away, cause you are not putting them in MY washing machine!"

When WE got a new wash machine last year, I decided to put the old one in the basement.  It’s a garage clothes only machine now.  It works great, but it would occasionally hold on to some bleach during white loads, and stain the next dark load.

We have a yard and a half for our weekly dumpster.  Most weeks, it fills up.  Some times, Grandpa or old man Jerry swing in and toss stuff.  Sometimes, other friends down the way too.  But for the extra $15/month, I say it’s worth having!  It stays in place and the truck backs right to it.  No weekly trips to the road.

How do you get it so cheap? I just checked and it's a few hundred around here. Am I missing something in my :text-google: search?

The following is a summery of my take on this thread:

The things a guy keeps for way too long…

Better keep the right fender.  It's only got one chunk missing!

Kevin 40 feet and you’re still looking for room. Simply amazing how we can collect so much stuff over the course of a few years.

For several years my wife and daughter had annual garage sales.  I mentioned that the stuff they had to sell represented many trips to Walmart.  I have learned to keep the comment to myself "Oh! we must be shopping for next spring's garage sale."

I have a philosophy about clutter. Whenever I buy something, I pass on or toss two... buy a coat - donate two.

Totally agree.

The bibs will likely need a trip to the car wash.

At  least Kevin isn't taking them to the public laundrymat!

I got one full racking shelf opened up.  My mom will be moving in to a new place soon and will be able to fit some of her totes too, so these shelves will be empty in the next week or so.

I figured someone would say that!  They are in the dumpster until Friday Bill… :hide:

I still have those tires for you sitting here too.

We are spending a week in Ky.  Early Thanksgiving get together with our kids.  I'll try to contact you later next week about the tires.

I agree, it’s wild how fast a squirrel can fill its bins!  I think it’s a little bit hereditary.  I don’t have a relationship with my father, but I was in his barn one time in my early to mid 20’s.  I immediately went home and started tossing stuff!  I don’t want to be a hoarder, I was born that way

Well every now and then it’s good to see what you have and what you can get rid of. I am constantly looking for more room with 15 toolboxes in the garage. The leaves are almost done so this gives me more time to rethink of what I have. I would say take a good hard look at everything that you have walk around and see what you can get rid of. Sounds like a good winter project. Take care.

Tools Tools Tools! I plan on starting to hoe out some stuff soon and putting it on Marketplace. Duplicates. Air tools, Metric swivel impact sockets, Flare line wrenches and the like. Stuff I haven't used in in years and don't apply to working on these tractors. I'm going to be 67 in a few months. Once I hit 70 I hope to downsize even more so my wife and son don't have to deal with it

Somehow, during this time of year, every year, I manage to realize what kind of hurt I’m putting myself in!  Somehow, 40 feet of this barn needs to be taken up by the new diesel pusher! 🤦  Along with needing to make room for that, on Saturday or Sunday we are picking up some sort of British sports car. I don’t know if it’s an MG, triumph, or something else in that line of vehicle types.  I’m pretty sure it’s red, and I’m pretty sure it’s a convertible.  I haven’t seen it in about 10 years, and a supplier who I used to work with, and Mrs. Pullstart currently works with, is giving it to us!

Kevin:  Isn't it funny how all available spaces tend to be filled beyond capacity for ease of movement???

We need a pic of the dumpster! I'm trying to get my B-I-L to get one. I think he has a bunch of 76 4 dr. Plymouth Volare parts he can't seem to part with.

English car eh.? Better stop at the store and get a couple of bottles of this.

Do you happen to know if Napa stocks alternator smoke for an 11 Accord, 3.5L?

I've got one at work that leaks the alternator smoke slowly, but only with the battery hooked up. Owner balked at $1000 for a new unit, wants us to top up the smoke.

I should finish my shed first, but due to the cost of this construction, I have very well considered a 16-18’ deep 80’ long lean to on the back of the barn!  Open walls, just roof.  Maybe side walls for weather…. maybe.  There are plenty of things that could store out there, that really only need a roof.

Just go ahead and make it 20'x80' you'll have it filled up in no time.

Good move Mike. But as you know you see something on the net say to your self Man I would like to have that. It’s like collecting tractors I believe it’s the same sickness.

Oh, man! And here I was berating myself for having a box with four hitches taking up shelf space!

BTW, I guess this means you have working forklift again?
