rustyedge1 182 #1 Posted November 1 I’ve tried PB Blaster for a day now with light heat from propane torch and can’t get it to move any. Any ideas or advice welcome. Thanks in advance
Wayne0 1,363 #3 Posted November 1 (edited) Longer soak. ATF and acetone. Flip it over to hold the liquid. Edited November 1 by Wayne0
peter lena 9,472 #4 Posted November 1 @rustyedge1 2 things , KROIL PENETRANT , have something immovable you can secure that to ? like a chain winch ? 18" pipe wrench inside a long thick walled pipe , solid mount , creeping lubricant and , leverage , will probably move it , you can really load up a frozen anything , with leverage . worked with a pipefitter for years , solid mounting , and long leverage pipe wrench , thats what i think , pete
adsm08 3,649 #5 Posted November 1 Smother in anti-seize and heat with the propane torch again. The stuff will melt and run down in the threads. I used to use it on EGR fittings a lot. Be careful to not over-heat it or you will bake it and then make things worse.
rustyedge1 182 #6 Posted November 1 Got it ~ Thanks all for the info.. Little more heat and Blaster and light taps bigger wrench. 1

I had really lubed it up.

peter lena 9,472 #12 Posted November 3 @rustyedge1 li SUPER LUBE HYDRAULIC OIL would be very good for that , local H/W store has it in small tubes , spray cans , also have that in every related , cable slide point , choke / throttle , check out the extreme temp ratings on it , every one of my cables , has a light spring pull to assist closure ? that way every time you engage it , you are helped . look at the cable mount end point , usually has a small holed plate , thats where I have my spring assist pull . easy to mount a pull point to a near , bolt / screw , also have small stripes of PRORATED , steel , for that spring pull cable assist . once you set this up , and verify function , you will add it to related areas , typically , go after REPEDITIVE PROBLEMS , its always there , why not make it better ? just my view on things , pete
