sqrlgtr 997 #1 Posted Friday at 10:52 PM Had some partial cans of Regal Red and IH Red paint and thought I would try and see which Red I prefered. So painted up some truck dolly wheels to compare. I was kinda surprised by the results and was wondering what some of y’all thought. Can you all tell which is the darker red and what wheel is painted with what flavor? I thought the one closer was the darker but the olady says further away is darker and so does the children. What say yall? 1

ri702bill 9,997 #3 Posted Friday at 11:12 PM In my experience, the IH Red is a bit on the orange side, the Regal Red is a darker color....
JCM 10,293 #4 Posted Friday at 11:13 PM The back one looks darker from here. More like WH red. Regal has a little more orange in it.

You two need to go into binding arbitration to settle this matter for the rest of us.
702854boy 241 #6 Posted yesterday at 12:21 AM The six speed i got from racinbob was painted regal red and to paint the hubs and hitch and random parts i used Bryson ih red and they match pretty good but in the right lighting the ih red is more red and the regal is just a tad more orange but they match close enough for me, I just wanted it all to be red and wear at the same time instead of having dirty parts on a clean tranny
sqrlgtr 997 #7 Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM ok the wheel closer is Regal and the farther away one is IH red and the more I look at picture and look in real time I do believe the Regal has more of an orange tint. This exactly opposite of what I had thought before and was surprised. Will look again in a day or two and see if they still look the same. I have been using the Regal for a while now but may go with the IH on next resto....

Regal red is almost a full shade darker. And the IH Red darkens as it cures over a few weeks. It loses alot of that orange tint over time.
squonk 44,542 #9 Posted yesterday at 11:51 AM Red is one of the colors that everyone sees differently. Some folks see orange whilst others will see a dark shade. It all depends on how much color blindness you have. 3

Yes, but the IH red is their farm and implement line. 5 hours ago, kpinnc said: Absolutely correct. JoeM 8,833 #13 Posted yesterday at 12:37 PM And somewhere in the 90's the paint changed to Toro Red (leaning toward maroon) and a good match for it is Colonial Red. What did Elmer do for paint in the 60's? Anything official I'm with Richard here, if you want to stir up the pot...... bring up red paint here.
