oliver2-44 10,961 #2 Posted yesterday at 02:58 AM (edited) Yes, the overhang is the factory ensign. If look under the frame angle you will see 2 bolts going into the bottom of the oil pan. Your grey block is probable a factory short block, or red parts are from the original engine. Edited yesterday at 02:50 PM by oliver2-44
thekevin 42 #3 Posted yesterday at 03:08 AM Awesome. Makes sense why it seems to run so good and doesn't smoke any or make any noises. I am not sure how long it was sitting before I got it running tonight but it was a long time.

WHX?? 52,831 #7 Posted yesterday at 12:58 PM 9 hours ago, oliver2-44 said: factory shift block Never heard it coined like that Jim but yes a service block or short block. Most often used if the original was ventilated or bore scored beyond 30 over.

Retired Wrencher 6,037 #9 Posted 11 hours ago @thekevin That oil pan Is said above is from the early 60s. 63 to 65. I believe. I have a 64 engine that I put into a 66 tractor and it has that pan. I use some heavy duty J bolts to hold it down here’s a picture. Because of the two bolts under the pan.Hope this helps.
