Racinbob 12,161 #1 Posted Sunday at 10:47 AM (edited) @stvski80085 I'm surprised that you still have the issue but throwing a rebuild kit in it sounds like the right thing to do. @stevasaurus I didn't see your PM until after we talked. Here's that part I told you about. I have never seen a part like this before. It was inside the bowl on a K-181 carb. Held captive by the bowl nut. What the????? Racinbob 12,161 #3 Posted Sunday at 01:32 PM (edited) I have absolutely no clue Eric. A thought is some sort of float support for shipping the carb. But that theory doesn't hole because the tractor was running fine. He put an electric fuel pump on it and it started spitting fuel all over. He opened it up and found it. I thought he should just remove it and try again. Edited Sunday at 01:36 PM by Racinbob

stvski80085 277 #7 Posted Sunday at 08:48 PM Ya, It's a k181. I had it rebuilt and that was in it and it ran good until recently. I ordered a rebuild kit and see if that resolves it. I ordered a new bowl float too. The one was cracked so I hope after going through it with new stuff it is good to go. Steve

stvski80085 277 #9 Posted Sunday at 09:09 PM (edited) I thought that was the issue but I have a brass bowl and it started then flooded out and started running out the front again. I have two carbs that should be good. Both carbs arent exactly the same. The eedle and seat are different in one then the other. I will get some pics for you. Racinbob 12,161 #10 Posted Sunday at 09:11 PM A cracked float will do it everytime. Now if we could just find out what that part is
stvski80085 277 #11 Posted Sunday at 09:22 PM So if you see above they are close but one has a screw in seat and the other had a press fit I guess. I am not sure how to change the press in one. Then One bowl is a little taller then the other. I have attached a video that shows them both a bit. Tell me what you think. Every time I order a gasket they send the wrong one for the carb I have. We will see what I get this time. Steve IMG_1695[1].MOV IMG_1690[1].HEIC
ebinmaine 74,112 #12 Posted Sunday at 09:28 PM I can't see those pic links. A stock Wheelhorse carb should have the screw in float seat.
stvski80085 277 #13 Posted Sunday at 09:42 PM (edited) Ok, I am going to switch out the one that was on it with the original that has a new seat. I will give that a try. The one that was working and had the piece bob posted has a press in seat and plastic bowl. I think I will still throw the new stuff in it when I get it Tuesday. Then it's just adjusting it correctly which I have done before. I also ordered a fuel regulator that can adjust it from 1 to 5 psi because this new electric fuel pump seems like the pressure may be a little high. I am just trying to cover all my bases and get this thing fixed. I have a good quality pump but it seems like it may just run on the highier psi side. I could be wrong though. Racinbob 12,161 #15 Posted yesterday at 01:09 AM Steve, I wouldn't even think about using that aftermarket carb. If you have a Kohler carb rebuild it and use it. If not, let me know and I'm pretty sure I have one I'll send you.
