Recommended Posts

I have a sunstand 90-2019 on a 1973 12 auto that has a leaking seal right where the cam follower block is

Is it possible to replace without removing the whole pump ?
thx

Should be a 1973. '75 was a C series.

@pfrederi might be able to help with the seal info.

You can leave the pump in. Get some long bolts and replace the ones that hold the trans to the frame. Then you can roll it way and work on it then roll it back and it's lined up.

Don't forget to support the trans and the tractor frame! :banana-wrench:

You will need a 12pt 1/4" socket. PM me you address i will give you the 2 O rings you will need.  Your 1973  Hydrogear Sunstrand is slightly different from the one on Squonks post and uses two O rings.  #52 and #55 in the picture.

7mm 12 pt socket will work in place of the 1/4"

Folks ,Thanks for all the help.

This machine originally had the motion control in the center of the console, didn’t like that so switched it to the side motion controller, much better  so I’m familiar with pulling all this back out again, wasn’t fun but not to difficult to do just tight quarters in there .

Wish I had thought to check those rings wileI was in there a couple yrs ago

Wheelhorse#1,

i just did this job this past summer on my bronco 14.    pfrederi was kind enough to send me the seals.    i like squonks idea.    i supported the tractor on jackstands.  then unbolted the tranny and rolled it backward.   then changed the seals and reassembled.  no leaks

@mrc Thanks yes I’m getting ready start on disassembly but going to pick up longer bolts for the tranny.

Never would have thought of that, so many helpful folks here well worth the price of admission and more .

thx
