I have been using Stabil in every can of gas that comes into my shop for years and have had no fuel problems.         :handgestures-thumbupleft:

@953 nut  been talking that  for  a long time , REPEDITIVE PROBLEM IS THE ISSUE ,  what could you possibly do ?  first thing i did was to  REPLACE  ALL EXISTING  RUBBER FUEL LINE , clean out tank  / carb bowl , any holding  point . added a fuel filter at tank  as well as carb , add an ounce or 2  of STABIL  to every tank top offs  , never let the tank run dry  , have zero debris  in any fuel filter / zero  debris in any  carb bowl , instant starts  , vital that you  remove all the possible , crap  in the line set up , eliminate  the issue , my generator  also has this  done , no fuel line break down , just stabil  in all my fuel . do a lot of EXPERIMENTATION  on repetitive  issues .  also  recommend  changing  frame length  fuel hose , to a 5/16  steel brake line ? tucked into  upper inner  corner of frame ?  eliminate most of hose failure , just hose at tank to line / line to carb , filter at end point . clear fuel line  hook up . STA  BIL  , has  consistently  worked for me , vital to  remove existing set up  , start fresh  , stabil  , it works .  do your own test , pete

I don't use any additives. I have several gas cans and rotate them out with non e fuel. 8 out of 10 of my collection pretty much sits.

I have noticed, in long term, the fuel evaporates. A couple weeks ago, I started an old c145, that has been sitting for a year. Other than being low on fuel it ran good. A little ripe exhaust smell tho.

This vid has a different twist. Seen it the other day.

Sea Foam works! I don't care what anyone else says. Especially someone looking for clicks and likes on YT.  I have used it for years.

Had a lifter tick in my 94 Chevy. Added 1/2 can to the oil. The tick was gone in 4 miles and stayed gone.

Wife's Caravan pinged like crazy. Half a can in the gas and the other half down the Throttle body. Ping gone.

B-I-L had a Buick 4 banger that sounded like the innards were going to come out of the oil pan. 1 can in the oil and it was gone.

MMO ig great for freeing up stuck valves, lifters, and rings - just not mixed with the gas.

Non Ethanol fuel is still the best bet and seasonal stuff like the push mower & snowblower get drained & run till they die for lack of fuel...

I like Chevron Techron for fuel system cleaning.

Expensive, but works very well on cleaning injectors. Especially in the newer vehicles.

:text-yeahthat: No water sucking fuel to worry about.

Stabil is not very stable.  Here is what the carb bowl looked like after only a couple of months. That yellowish stuff has the texture of gummy bears and really messed up the whole carb.  I no longer use any sort of fuel additive...just buy non-ethanol gas is the solution. This is the carb from a K241s engine.

His :twocents-twocents: - Other than Stabil for corrosion resistance, he says it's all snake oil... and with his "subjective" disclaimer, it's all snake oil...

So my question, how often do snakes get oil changes? :eusa-think:

Stabil makes a couple different treatment products - - including something called 360 -- anyone know the difference of that versus "storage" other than what the word implies???????

Formula difference???????

yup --- make the drive about 15 miles to fill up with the jugs with non ethanol --- hard to specifically predict long term the effect but will be interesting over time if any obvious or noticable difference -- been using it a for a couple years

Once again nobody is doing these test with PRI/G stabilizer, been using it for at least 12+ years. 1 Oz for 16 Gallons!  Never had a problem with tractors, yard equipment or boat engines. Up till about 4 years ago before I a bought a duel fuel generator I stored 50 gallons of gas with PRI/G in it every May through November for my generator, then used it for the next few month, never a problem, I've actually used gas that was at least 2 + years old. I still store for 25 gallons of gas with it for hurricanes along with 50gallons of propane just in case one hits. Until you've been out of power for 18 + days a couple of times in Florida, you do what you have to do.

For the record. I cannot tolerate T D either.  knowledgeable .  Too much.  Dad swore by sea foam specifically in engine oil.  No clue about gas.  just non E. ALWAYS.  we had an old Massey or fergeson.  Split apart, changed clutch, changed from positive ground to negative, added an alternater instead of generator and other stuff.  Sea foam stopped the tick tick tick while running.

That was grade school.  I didn't do much just observed.  When in college dad gave that to an aunt.  still just running great.

I too am a fan of Sea Foam, have had it work on multilabel engines, I also use ethanol gas in any and all small engines. I have zero fuel issues.

I used E10 fuel this season, amended with Schaeffer Neutra with no problems.  Since I lost my Neutra source I am going to try PRI-G.

I used E10 since I bought my first Wheel Horse in 1991, 34 years, no snake oil and no problems.  I only had E10 issues a couple of times on small seasonal engines.  I will be going with E0 for some engines that won't be used very much in the future.

I've always used Stabil in my gas. But then again, I always shut the petcock off on all my power equipment and let the carb run dry until it stalls.

Never had a problem.

Seafoam is the same active ingredients as MMO...pale oil/Naptha..its just a petroleum distillate.  Stabil can help in large storage quantities but if it goes bad in a carburetor its worse than if untreated.

I use Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner, its the only product GM authorizes for cleaning the fuel senders in C5 vettes (its a 17 hour job to pull the tanks on a lift), and Techron usually resolves the problem in a few miles.

I put stabil 360 in my 5.5g cans but if the fuel goes past 9 months it goes in the truck and gets replaced.  I dont trust any stabilizer past 9-10 months.

I use ethanol fuel in everything.

I dont typically have any issues, you just have to periodically start stuff and keep fresh fuel in the carburetor, because thats the fuel that will go bad first

I use Stabil and Marvel in my 5 gallon cans - same mixture for almost 30 years non ethanol gas . Knock on wood I’ve never had and issue but I never allow my gas go past the 1 year mark .

With that said the 92 octane non ethanol with Stihl’s two stroke stabilizer and oil blend is 2 years or it goes bad and fouls the plug - don’t use much 2 stroke gas so after a year I’ll just add it in small increments run it through the tractors - go get fresh . I learned fouling plugs the hard way on the 2nd or 3rd year .

Iwas thinking about this post today.  1st week of January this year i put up my splitter..CR950 briggs, steel tank.  I put it up nearly full of gas, ethanol gas, untreated.  We had a foot of snow a couple weeks later then an early spring...the splitter sat out but under a mower cover up until this morning.  I planned on pulling it out and start getting it ready for the season.  I opened the fuel cap and looked in, expecting disaster but...shockingly it was clear fuel, about 1/4 tank.  I smelled it, wasnt awful.  Figured hell why not..I opened the fuel petcock and choked it, 3 pulls it fired to life and ran normally.  Topped it off with fresh and changed the oil.

Im not sure how i got away with it.  But I know I didn't use it any after i split for 8 hours right after new years.
