sqrlgtr 1,037 #1 Posted October 2 (edited) This a first for me, this chiiinaa carb weeps fuel out of top of carb. I had stuck it on awhile back and it runs out ok but I have a couple Carter n carbs that I rebuilt this week so one of these will be going on the 857 along with the rebuilt fuel pump ready for another 50years of service. ri702bill 10,026 #5 Posted October 3 (edited) I worked as an Assembler years ago for a local company that built valves for the Chemical, Petroleum, and Nuclear Industries. Once built, they would be hydro tested - tap water inside pressurized to usually 5000 PSI. Amazing how many were leak free at 4500 PSI, but failed at 5000. Did you look inside at the float, needle and seat? Any debris in the bowl or passages?

Hard to find a real carburetor today that will work on your engine. And if you do find one, they’re big dollars. Glade you saved them. 1

Any debris in the bowl or passages? @lynnmor yeah, I've had off more times than I would like to admit lol. I finally came to the conclusion it's just junk. If it didn't leak, I would be satisfied with it, but it just keeps on dripping. It does seem to go way lean in a long hard pull so it may go from weeping to drawing air IDK. @Retired Wrencher agreed. Fuel fitting in top of carb hade a pin hole in it and was spraying very fine mist of fuel on to top of carb! Never seen anything like it lol. Replaced fitting and should be good to go for a long time. Im glad it wasnt carb because it rund great and works good .
