Krice58 77 #1 Posted Wednesday at 06:24 PM Late 90s 520H, runs and drives just has a leaky tank, but I have some spares. Comes with 48” deck. $400, good deal?

Wayne0 1,320 #4 Posted Wednesday at 08:52 PM Leaky tank. Gas tank ? How many hours? Well cared for? Price sounds pretty good depending on condition. Deck in decent shape is worth $200 all day long. Pics would help a lot.

Guy said it leaks on the gas tank near where one of the front plastic tabs bolt under the seat. All four chrome hubcaps. Not a late 90's, possibly one of the first 520H's. Appears it has a straight front axle, if so that is a minus. Broken tab on tank might mean broken mount. Seat is spent. Belt guards on mower missing. We need real photos with a high resolution, the current one isn't very useful.

Sorry, I was only about to get the one photo, got dark on me. I’ll get more tomorrow. After running the number it is an ‘89. I do have the belt guards, just have to put them on. Sorry for the dumb question, but how do you put higher resolution photos on here? Every time I try to, it tells me I’m over the file size. Do I have to use like Flickr or imgur instead and post link? I’ll have to check that mount, I know they snap off sometimes.

Worst case, I figure just a running motor and a solid deck are at worth what I paid for it.

Ed Kennell 42,700 #13 Posted Thursday at 12:12 AM Straight front axle makes it an '88 or '89. The good news is the motion control is NOT on the steering tower.

The answer, as @adsm08, gave you above, is "yes", that is, unless you become a supporter of the forum, which is really a good deal if you want to just post your pictures and not hassle with outside sites and links. BTW, from that picture, it looks to be worth that price to me. I've paid more for tractors in worse condition.

Krice58 77 #21 Posted Thursday at 12:30 PM Took off the seat pan, the mounting tabs are intact and solid. I’ll have to fill with fuel and see where it’s leaking. I thought I had an extra tank, but they’re the smaller ones off of the 312s with no spot for the sending unit. Would one of those work temporarily? Or do I look into buying another tank? I think AZ tractor has them. Also, got a mule drive with it but no belt. The deck number is 058SC01 (1988). found a manual but no parts list for that model I’ve got the mule drive belt for a 42 inch side discharge and I’ve read a few places that it’s the same for both the 42 and 48 inch side discharge. The 42 is an older one 5-1011, (1974/5 I think).

Be sure to safely insulate and secure the ends of the sending unit wires until you need them again!

Krice58 77 #25 Posted yesterday at 12:28 AM Still wasn’t able to snap any pictures but changed the transmission oil and filter. Hydraulics work, tractor moves forward and reverse. Engine starts up easy, and runs smooth. Don’t see a fuel leak yet. Throttle lever doesn’t want to stay up, probably have to pinch the rivet with vice grips like I did on my 314-8 that kept sliding down from full throttle. Looks like the tachometer and gas gauge don’t work. Voltmeter and vacuum gauge do work. I’ll have to check through the wiring for the gas gauge and tachometer. Not super worried about those, I’ll fix them if it’s not a bear, but it’s not essential for me.
