Yes, I had to rob the set screw out of junked machine and thought I could use the shifter also but it's just too tall... Maybe i can find another one somewhere @cafoose is pretty close and he may have an extra I could beat him out of lol....
cafoose 3,487 #27 Posted September 27 Don't have any new ones here. Maybe in a parts machine.

I robbed a grub screw from one of my junkers lol….. All the shifters I have are for the later models and are a tad bit to tall for my liking. I did put new boot on but don't think it will do any good .

sqrlgtr 1,017 #34 Posted October 11 Big shout out to A-Z Tractor for shifter I ordered. Unfortunately I ordered wrong one . I had pictures and everything to go bye, still ordered wrong one. This one fits the 702 up round hoods. This was going to replace the rusty one in the 856. I thought about trying to bend it the right way but hate to do that to a perfectly good shifter. If anyone has one that fits a 856 and needs this one just let me know if u would like to do some kind of swap . 1

I guess if it broke at rusty spots the ball would have still held. Edited October 11 by sqrlgtr

You're welcome to one (or two or three or four) if you don't mind straightening the top section......
sqrlgtr 1,017 #40 Posted October 12 @ebinmaine I have one of those and really don't mind the bend, but they are actually an inch or so taller also, but I might end up going that route. What would you want for one of them shifters?
