That's a mite scary! Pop goes the shifter. A true testament to what I said about it acting like a wick....

Yes, I had to rob the set screw out of junked machine and thought I could use the shifter also but it's just too tall... Maybe i can find another one somewhere @cafoose is pretty close and he may have an extra I could beat him out of lol....

Don't have any new ones here. Maybe in a parts machine.

The actual shifter was what I needed. I robbed a grub screw from one of my junkers lol….. All the shifters I have are for the later models and are a tad bit to tall for my liking. I did put new boot on but don't think it will do any good :handgestures-thumbdown:.

Big shout out to A-Z Tractor for shifter I ordered. Unfortunately I ordered wrong one . I had pictures and everything to go bye, still ordered wrong one. This one fits the 702 up round hoods. This was going to replace the rusty one in the 856. I thought about trying to bend it the right way but hate to do that to a perfectly good shifter. If anyone has one that fits a 856 and needs this one just let me know if u would like to do some kind of swap :D.

I have several spare shifters.

Have you posted pics of yours showing the bend(s) and length?

Here you go, give or take a thou or two,and just noticed ball was welded to shifter also. I guess if it broke at rusty spots the ball would have still held:D.

Well I have several of the newer style shifters with the 3rd bend but no spare older ones.

You're welcome to one (or two or three or four) if you don't mind straightening the top section......

@ebinmaine I have one of those and really don't mind the bend, but they are actually an inch or so taller also, but I might end up going that route. What would you want for one of them shifters?

Nothing for the parts. Just pay the freight.

Figure between $12 and $16.
