algonac muscrat 0 #1 Posted 16 hours ago Wheel horse 71-10k801. I bought this new and never modified the ignition switch connector. After my bone head move I accidenatally grounded wires to the ammeter. I've traced and replaced them but the original wiring to ign switch connector does not match wiring diagrams shown here in the forum. I'm worried and don't want to power it up without confirmation. Open to any ideas. should I just use the original connector routing or try to match what the printed stuff says.
953 nut 61,074 #2 Posted 13 hours ago Your post about the switch having been grounded was responded to by several people. @gwest_ca made the following observation; The switch connector has a unique shape with one wire position say on top with two rows of wires positioned below it. Handy to know what goes to what so one can probe into the rear of the connector without disturbing anything else. There are 2 diagrams with one using an electric pto. Sounds like you are viewing the connector from the front. The diagrams are viewed from the rear of the switch.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,611 #3 Posted 13 hours ago Curious to know what is different? Does this one have all black wires that originally had a color tracer stripe? After 48 years many lose their original colors at least on mine it has.
