bc_gold 139 #1 Posted September 19 (edited) I asked for a wood lathe and this is what I got, yes a landfill score. Might even be older than the Foley Belsaw 905 wood planer and the lathe looks to have babbit bearings with an oil wick to keep them lubricated. bc_gold 139 #2 Posted September 21 (edited) Did not find the face plate and the spindle looks smaller than from a modern conventional lathe. I'm in the process of making a pattern to sand cast a couple from aluminum. Will post as this project progress's along. Any ideas for a drive spur to enable the turning of spindles, are welcome. 8ntruck 8,067 #3 Posted September 21 The typical spur uses a taper. Morse tapers are common in the US. Probably Canada, too. That spindles looks like it might have enough beef to drill and ream for a taper. I suppose one could weld the business end of a tapered spur to a plate that would bolt to a faceplate.
