We lift 2500-4000 lb vehicles over our heads and walk around under them every day. I don't care how good your safety glasses, helmet, or steel-toe boots are, if that car falls off the lift on you because you weren't paying attention they aren't going to save you. Worked 20 years in auto shops. Saw a Chevy wagon fall off a lift. The guy working on the car was at the parts counter when it happened. I've seen some guys on flat rate really get a vehicle bouncing on a lift yanking a transmission out! I started out on those dreaded twin post adjustable lifts with on lever for each post. You didn't want to leave those up overnight. Came in to work one morning and one of the guys left a new Toronado up. In the morning the back end was on the floor.

8ntruck 7,994 #29 Posted 3 hours ago I picked up a speck of something in my eye driving with the windows down. I got home, and the eye was really irritated. Looked in the mirror and saw a black spec in the white of my eye. Trip to the Ready Care ( @Pullstart shop), where they put a drop of dye in that eye. The dye made my eye tear up enough to wash the spec out, but did show where the speck was.
