76c12091520h 4,003 #1 Posted September 12 Perhaps some members can shed some light on why this happens at all, and with more frequency than ever before: I am finding more and more that conversations start here in my private messenger, or thru a text, or on Facebook, and then it goes silent. I then find an email picking up the conversation there ( in my emails) . I do not use my email or check it regularly. It appears on my card for Paypal use. I even try to include that statement in most of my listings. Why would someone switch to another form of communication midway thru a conversation?
Sparky-(Admin) 24,084 #2 Posted September 12 Can’t shed any light on that, but sure seems like a complicated way to talk with a seller.
ebinmaine 75,986 #3 Posted September 12 I've had it happen A LOT to me as well. I have PM here, Gmail, and text. They get cross contaminated very easily.
adsm08 3,913 #4 Posted September 13 Beats me. The only way I am going to change methods of communication mid-conversation is if I decide it is getting to unwieldy for text messages and just turn it into a phone call. And I'll usually warn you first, because I realize people who are actively texting back may not always be in a good spot to take a call.
squonk 44,953 #5 Posted September 13 I think some people are in too big a hurry to pay attention what medium they are (were) using. You get an e mail notifying you got a PM and BOOM you're in an e mail chain. I have a separate E mail at work. I had to send my supervisor an e mail from home once. So when he needs to send me an e mail back both of my addresses pop up on his screen. He keeps sending me quotes, service reports and invoices to my personal g mail account. I have to then forward them to my work account so I can print them out. I tell him that he sent it to the wrong account and he gets mad at himself for doing it but he keeps on doing it!
Christmanrd 2 #6 Posted 3 hours ago It may be that some of us are not use to forums and how they operate. I had a little difficulty trying to figure out how to PM someone. But after playing around, I managed to figure it out. That's just my take.
