How NOT to repair a battery cable.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

That's HOUSE wiring double wrapped around the 12V cable. 

The house wiring was also double wrapped onto the battery positive side bolt 🔩

Temporary repair at BEST. 

 

This was burning up the plastic at the contact points.

Definitely replace, but don't can it! I have a shelf in my garage where I keep all my awful, weird, or creative "fixes" I've found on tractors over the years. I took a homemade steering wheel off of a panzer one time and hung it on the wall and I have rubber tarp straps hanging off it it. It made a great organizer!
