lynnmor 8,049 #2 Posted September 10 Repair Clinic has a good website but prices may be high. I just shopped for a light switch for a refrigerator and bought online from McCombs for way less than most. They are not too far from me and sometimes I'll just drive there, especially if there is confusion about the part.
ri702bill 9,932 #3 Posted September 10 I used to have a Ma & Pa owned Appliance Parts store the next town over. Parts only, no housecalls for service. Small store, about half the square footage of a 2 chair Barbershop. No longer there - it was like stepping back in time... Great guy to deal with.

They don’t make them like they used to.
Lee1977 7,362 #5 Posted September 11 The problem with repairing old ranges and ovens it that the wiring is cooked. I pulled out an old wall oven took a look at the wiring and decided it was not going back in. I had to rebuild the cabinet as the old wall oven was a 24". We used it for 39 years didn't trust it in the house, looked like a fire hazard to me.
WHX?? 52,802 #6 Posted September 11 I found a exact replacement door switch and drum belt for her 20 yo dryer in the jungle ... go figure. I have bought some power tool parts from RC and thought they were reasonable but sorta got jabbed on shipping.

Lee1977 7,362 #8 Posted September 12 If I really need something I always check price and shipping. Some places offer a cheap price then nail you on shipping. Others have a higher price and average cost on shipping. I go with the cheaper total price.
lynnmor 8,049 #9 Posted September 12 Got my Whirlpool switch part number W11396033 yesterday from McCombs, it was an exact match to the original. Total price was $12.40 versus $34.17 from Parts Select.
