uglyblue66 133 #1 Posted September 7 (edited) Hello, I will be needing a couple photos of how the original seat safety switch mounts on a E 141. The new addition to the collection has the wrong switch and it may not be mounted correctly. I will get some pics of the machine up later today i hope. Thanks of course to the info on this website i was able to get the correct part numbers for the key switch, and seat safety switch and order them off ebay. uglyblue66 133 #2 Posted September 7 hood is off, but i have it and it is in decent shape, from what i understand this came from Georgia and the previous owner passed away while in process of fixing it. Alot of wiring has been altered ALOT as in does not have original charger plug or jack. charger hums when plugged in as if it wants to work but i could not plug it into my working E 141 because of the altered plug system. Drive motor runs along with the deck motors running very quietly and smooth. so whatever issues it may have will be in the control systems. I really feel like Wheel Horse went ruby goldburg on these things taking the simple task of turning some electric motors on and off and turning it into a space shuttle.
uglyblue66 133 #3 Posted September 13 Doing a bit of research, I ask this company about using 2 of these in this tractor and this is the response i got .I just thought i would pass this along. I am running lithuim in a golf cart and i am getting great service from it. https://www.timeusbpower.com/products/timeusb-36v-lithium-trolling-motor-battery-50ah-with-low-temp-protection-deep-cycle-marine-battery-copy?currency=USD&variant=46441405677789&stkn=a0b4c9a9c2aa Yes, you can use two of our 36V 50Ah batteries in parallel for your 1980 Wheel Horse E141 electric lawn tractor. This configuration will effectively double your capacity while maintaining the same voltage, which is suitable for your setup with the PM 36V DC motors. Since you mentioned that you would need to disconnect the built-in charging control system, it's important to ensure that your new charging system is compatible with lithium batteries. For charging our 36V LiFePO4 batteries, we recommend using a dedicated 36V LiFePO4 battery charger. This will ensure optimal charging performance and battery longevity. If you have any further questions or need assistance with specific charger recommendations, feel free to ask! 1
953 nut 60,979 #4 Posted Saturday at 10:58 AM Three group 27 deep cycle lead acid batteries will cost less than two lithium batteries and you don't need a new charger. I would be hesitant about charging lithium batteries in my garage.
SylvanLakeWH 28,955 #5 Posted Saturday at 11:27 AM Just my - I agree with @953 nut, except that you can actually get 3 group 27 deep cells at Costco for less than one lithium ion battery... Great info and really enjoy following along...!

Probably from all the safety crap they were being forced to put on tractors in the day.

So if time allows in the coming weeks i have the parts to get started to see how she goes. Edited Sunday at 03:18 AM by uglyblue66
