Ed Kennell 42,505 #28 Posted August 24 A new wear bar is a plus. I don't see the triangle shaped piece that connects the wires to pull the angle locking pin or lift link.
Awd79 30 #32 Posted August 24 These were all the pics. I will ask him. he has rear mounts I need as well.
Ed Kennell 42,505 #33 Posted August 24 Those two missing parts are pretty easy to make, but maybe could be used to negotiate for a free axle bracket.
Brockport Bill 2,014 #34 Posted August 24 suggest for the plow blade to use a grinder sander disc, or sand blast, or sand the rust off front of blade and then prime and paint -- Reducing friction so snow, slush etc peel away is your goal. Also consider oil spay, or car wax, on blade for more efficient clearing of snow - Oh yeah - - suggest anything deeper than 6 inches take half a blade on angle and don't ask the blade or tractor to be a bulldozer -- here are a few blade photos i did rehab
Brockport Bill 2,014 #35 Posted August 24 here is rear axle bracket you will need -- i rehab mine - not that it improves function but sometimes pretty is better

Awd79 30 #38 Posted August 24 This snowblower is missing the stuff I need to mount it. Wants $80 for it. He is in CT like me and said the blower handles our snow better than a plow. I don’t want both. thought?

That blower mounts directly on any wheel horse with the front attach-a-matic which you have. The only thing I see missing is the cable to rotate the chute. I prefer to plow, but the blower is 1/2 the price of the plow and will handle a blizzard if you ever get one.

Plow guy came down to $100. Probably can get him to throw rear mounts in also. Which he has. would that change your mind?
SylvanLakeWH 29,013 #42 Posted August 24 I prefer plowing... If you get the mounting brackets thrown in I'd go with the plow...

Now that I have a plow, and a blower, and a tractor for each, my plan for this winter is to plow like normal, and have the boy follow behind chucking the snow piles up farther out of the way. We have a double wide driveway, so twice the surface area to take snow out of, same amount of space at the edges to pile it in. I tend to run out of places to put it if we don't get a melt between storms.

Ed Kennell 42,505 #46 Posted August 24 These are the two parts that I don't see in the pictures. They tend to get misplaced when a plow is removed from a tractor.

Handy Don 14,306 #48 Posted August 24 1 hour ago, Awd79 said: Plow guy came down to $100. Probably can get him to throw rear mounts in also. Which he has. would that change your mind? My opinion... Plow: Handles wet sloppy slush Faster than a blower for snow amounts < 9" Requires a place to put the snow alongside the plowed area Can mark pavements/sidewalks Can dig up gravel/dirt driveways unless using skids Blower: LOVES dry snow up to 12-14" Tosses the snow well away from the cleared area Can clog with wet or slushy stuff unless kept nicely “loaded" Less marking of pavement/sidewalks In my area we are getting smaller, wetter snowfalls. I switched to a WH plow last year from a walk-behind 2-stage blower. I don’t think I’ll be going back. 1
