Phan 29 #1 Posted Tuesday at 12:21 AM In June, I posted about my 312H - not cranking. And I received your suggestions. In July, while working on sending and painting, I figured out that the starter swicth (part number 3497644) had burned out on its pole marked as B. I replaced it with a Stein starter switch 430-334 from Amazon. It matches the plunger. I also replaced the spark. However, I have not hear any clicking when turning the key on. My test results for the sumptom are as follows. 1) The battery tested at 12.5v 2) Light test NO light for the negative battery terminal - the solenoid starter (but has a light for the the solenoid posive battery. NOTE: Turning or not turning the key) 3) Light test NO light for the posive battery terminal - the solenoid posive battery (but has a light for the the solenoid starter and has a light for the starter. NOTE: Turning or not turning the key) 4) The 15amp fuse tested good on the light test 5) The 25amp fuse did NOT show on the light test (both no / or turning the key on). After replacing the new one, it remains the same. NOTE: My solenoid has 4 poles. The ground and other wire look ok. Any comments are greatly appreciated it. Thanks you! Make sure the letters on the poles of the new switch match the old switch. Some switches are for battery ignition and some for Magneto ignition A Kohler Magnum engine would have a magneto ignition so therefore there should have a M on one of the switch poles Kohler K series engine would have a battery ignition and therefore it would need a I on the switch instead of the M. The 5 pin plug on the tractor wiring will fit both types of switches * You do NOT want to hook up a battery ignition switch to a magneto ignition engine as it will send voltage to the magneto and make it let out the magic smoke.

The information in the manual @gwest_ca gave you on your previous post clearly shows that you need a 103991 ignition switch. I hope you haven't damaged your ignition system.
