A brand new stiff belt is also harder to work with and getting them to slip easy. It gets to be a bit smoother once the sides of the belt get glazed smooth. I'm assuming you were trying it with the belt guard in place as that what the pics represented. The belt guard guides the belt around the engine pulley to help it slip on it when the pedal pushed. Small "wire fingers" can be added and attached to the engine block to help guide that belt if it's still grabbing with a clean groove and the belt guard in place.

 

Personally I'd avoid using any teflon tape on that oil fill plug. It could easily let pieces fall into the oil when removing it. :twocents-02cents:

There should not be any oil seeping out of there without the teflon anyway. If there is, then there's probably too much crank pressure. That high pressure would also push oil out through the governor shaft

I figured out the motor now it runs good and doesn't smoke anymore all it was bad points it's had a hole in one of the contents and that was new points parts now days

Fairly simple to make if you can weld. But there's also lots out there from them staying on the tractors when the blades move on. Post a wanted ad for one.
