excels at front blade work.

Agreed.

Wheelhorse company paperwork from around the vintage of your own tractor shows more than 20 available implements.

That's not even getting into the myriad of aftermarket equipment.

The more you use one, the more you will be impressed.

Snow Plowing Action!  My first time using a WH to plow.  That limited slip must work at least a little, it really grips.

This boy loves the snow.  He's just a bundle of joy in general, truly.

Already thinking about spring.  More to come on the front blade, weight ballasting, etc but I'm curious:

I had planned on patching up the 42"SD deck, but it is pretty bad for the entire spindle mounting area and will require significant repairs.

Rather than fix the Raider's 42", am I able to swap the lifting carriage from it onto another, more common newer style deck?  The Raider is pre Attach-A-Matic.

There this decent newer 48" not far from me.  Is it possible to swap the lifting components over and use a different deck or are there other issues I'm unaware of?

Disclaimer: I am NOT an expert on the Raiders.

That said, decks need three things:

1. A compatible lifting chassis (attach-a-matic location and strength)

2. A compatible power delivery, i.e. mule & belt routing

3. Room under the tractor (short, “medium”, or long frame; front wheel size)

@gwest_ca can you please add a link to the “cross reference” document that shows which decks were made to go on which models? :)

might be faster easier to put front tachmatic on the tractor.    and use this to lift the deck

@jsoluna

Very good job with the repower on your Raider. That machine looks very happy pushing all that snow with the new heart transplant!

Again- all you guys plowing and blowing snow make me a bit jealous. My tractors do very little in winter here in NC. Maybe tow something around but not much else. IF by chance we do get snow, I get to drive around and put tire tracks in it, but it's gone in just a day or two.

I have the document in my files, thanks Don.  I was curious if anyone has done this exact thing before by using a deck that was not necessarily intended for that model, and if so what that entails.

How big of a deal is it to convert the Raider to the Attach a Matic mule and lift system?

Would it still work with the electric PTO vs the manual PTO that is more common?

Add the front hitch by welding a bracket on it.

That'll permit use of the front mule drive.

Then add a mid attach o matic if ya don't already have one.

Then add the lift link as seen above.

Presto.

Fantastic.  Thanks again guys.

I'll be looking for the related parts to convert this spring if anyone would like to part with them.

Thanks, it is a very happy machine, which means a happy operator.  Glad we saved it.

Fingers crossed for some of the white stuff your way this year!
