jsoluna 224 #51 Posted September 10 Thank you! Great food for thought and brainstorming where the gauges will live.

I’ve see hour meters mounted in the side of the Hoodstand and look factory is. They are not something you need to see while it’s running

jsoluna 224 #57 Posted September 18 Picked up a front blade, complete today! It's the proper 42" and the frame is also correct and complete, minus lift link and rear axle bracket.

I'd go with a solid connection. That way you have downpressure when needed.
jsoluna 224 #62 Posted September 29 @ebinmaine thank you for the axle bracket! Worked on the wiring harness today, getting ready to drop the CH13 back in. I've decided for now to use a low oil pressure indicator, hour meter, and voltmeter, and hold off on an oil pressure gauge. Everything will be mounted on the dash insert panel. The headlight switch will be eliminated (now integrated into the keyswitch), as will the cigar lighter. Pics to come tomorrow 🤙🏼
jsoluna 224 #63 Posted October 1 Well, this was a journey. Plans for a voltmeter didn't pan out, but I didn't follow the proper "measure twice, cut once" method. So, unfortunately I had already cut a 2" hole in the panel. Out with the sheet metal and the welder... Ever have one of those days in the shop where nothing seems to flow? That was today - but here is the design. It's designed so that the panel can be taken on and off without removing any of the components, or disconnecting any wiring except the main plug at the engine. Low oil pressure indicator on the right side, new key switch, PTO switch, hour meter, and a low voltage indicator on the left. Low voltage sensor kicks on the light when the voltage drops below 11.5-12vdc. Some ground lugs to make the wiring more simple. It's all tested and ready for paint and custom decals. I've settled on the indicator lights for now, and if I want actual gauges in the future, I'll look into mounting them on the dash tower below. Contemplating a Wheel Horse logo in the middle to kind of balance out the empty area there. It will look very different once it is all painted black, so I'll revisit that idea once it is fully ready for install. It's far from perfect but will be a great upgrade from what was there and just fine for a worker tractor. 1
ebinmaine 74,825 #65 Posted October 1 Nice clean wiring. Looks good. You'd see in my build threads I get a little... particular... about my harnesses.

Not really happy with the wiring layout, it could be more tidy and thought out. I'm also extremely picky about wiring. Too much, probably. But it is solid functional, and color coded for diagnosis. Luckily, most of it won't be seen behind the fuel tank. Edited October 1 by jsoluna

jsoluna 224 #69 Posted October 17 (edited) Progress! Just published the latest video with some updates. Engine is in. Wiring is complete, just needs tidied up a bit. Fuel system is hooked up, and it moves under its own power again. https://youtu.be/995aGBr6zXU?si=7TgldpkqWGeHmArx Edited October 17 by jsoluna
ebinmaine 74,825 #70 Posted October 18 Looks and sounds good! Got an exhaust plan? That'll be a great worker for ya. 13 HP. Limited Slip Differential. Excellent.
jsoluna 224 #71 Posted October 19 Yeah, it's gonna be a sweet all purpose worker. The LSD is inop, I believe, so it probably needs a teardown. Exhaust plan is to make this a very quiet one. I have a twin cylinder muffler from a Briggs that I'm going to modify and mount horizontally like the 300/400/500 series do.

That's normal wear and tear. The LSD spring is a full contact part so it'll eventually quit. They're available from one of our Redsquare vendors. Plenty of videos and info on breaking open and repairing the Wheelhorse transmission too. 21 minutes ago, jsoluna said: Exhaust plan is to make this a very quiet one. jsoluna 224 #74 Posted October 19 Dash panel painted and all functional including new throttle and choke cabling. Custom decals to come. 1
jsoluna 224 #75 Posted October 19 Engine is installation - you can see the cabling, wiring, and fuel all in place. Nothing is absolutely final, and it all needs tidied up but it's functional. Had to run the cabling though the right hand side to make sure I had enough length. I had hoped not to run it under the exhaust but that's just the way it shook down with the replacement cables I used. PTO and lighting circuits are on a separate 2 pin Packard connector. Fuel system has inline shutoff and 60 micron filter before the pump. Very little clearance between the battery and the starter solenoid, but it all worked out fine. Some slight modifications were required to tweak the belt guard to be nice and quiet, it was rubbing on the rear input shaft pulley. Just one extra washer between the guide and the frame bracket. 2
