Thank you!  Great food for thought and brainstorming where the gauges will live.

I want to keep the unit as close to factory configuration as possible, but having eyes on the hours, oil, and volts are pretty important for a daily driver in my opinion so I'm good with some slight mods there.

I’ve see hour meters mounted in the side of the Hoodstand and look factory is. They are not something you need to see while it’s running

That's a neat thought too.  👍

I'm late to the party with this thread. I don't know how I managed to miss it. It's an excellent read and I'll be following closely from here on out. I recently acquired a 68 Raider 9 (Tecky 10hp) and I've decided the best use for it is for parts and distribute them to other members here. There's a lot of common parts to your 71 so I'll keep tabs on that too. :)

The oil gauge is mounted on a short piece of ABS pipe with just a few small holes to hold it on.

That's an interesting workaround for limited space applications.  🦾

Picked up a front blade, complete today!

It's the proper 42" and the frame is also correct and complete, minus lift link and rear axle bracket.

Niiiiice.

The rear brackets are readily available both new and used.

The lift link....

I'd go with a solid connection. That way you have downpressure when needed.
