plastic hub spacer?

Recommended Posts

mrc

i know on a 520H there is a thin plastic/teflon spacer between the hub and tranny case.  i am working on a friends C160 hydro and i have to pull a hub to replace a leaking seal .  i do not see a plastic spacer.  should there be one?

thank you

We've worked on several hydros from the 1970s here. None had the washer. But... that's 45 to 55 years of degradation too. Maybe worn off?

None of the 3 we own or maintain currently have one.

Certainly wouldn't hurt to install one.

Transaxles with Eaton 1100 transmissions did have this thrust washer, though there are probably many that no longer have them if the hub was ever removed. They are in place to protect the axle seal from contacting the hub. You may be able to get them from TORO, :techie-ebay: or Parts Tree, TORO part # 106826

I would bet McMaster-Carr has them. And probably for Less money.

I used these with just a light lap in the ID with a die grinder.
