Removal of transmission drive belt

Recommended Posts

Wheel Horse312-8

Hello,

in process of replacing drive/transmission belt on my 417xt. Can't seem to figure how to remove belt from around clutch. I replaced it 4-5 years ago but have no idea how i did it. The only visible  way seem to be to remove the clutch bracket, but i don't recall having done that in the past, and it doesn't appear as if it will slip off around the clutch itself.

Thank you!

Thank you, got into service manual, just need to loosen/remove the clutch bracket to create enough space for the belt.

@WHEEL HORSE 312-8  also a good opportunity to go over any / every related , MOVEMENT  CONNECTION POINT . personally like a penetrating oil , or super lube , hydraulic oil , most of the stuff I see is rust bound  or  just has  dragging movement areas . pete

I took apart the brake on my C-141 as I thought something was binding it turns out @peter lena’s advice came in handy. I lubed it and it works great now.

@MainelyWheelhorse thanks for the shout  !  do a lot of  functional detailing , very often its  simple . washer , lube , enhance every  hang up . rarely a one  and done , once I did , my pto lever start and related pulley drive set up , I looked at just about everything  for a better function , that directed me to  plow blade function , another simple GOLD MINE , for  functional  gain . marvel at its simplicity of swing  lever ease. just tinkering , pete
