A bugger to clean this pellet stove

I got this stove free on marketplace. They go for North of 3600 new so I thought why not. Quadrafire is made by Harmon Stoves and even though I accessed a repair and troubleshooting manual, this problem was not addressed

This is a puller stove. In other words the exhaust is pulled hot through a hi temp fan. . The fan is at the junction of the stove and the chimney pipe .The air supply comes from the exact center from underneath the stove..It enters through about a 1.5 x6 inch opening. With the base only sealing in a one inch of air under that opening., it might occur to us that any dust bunnies might find a way to plug things up. And it did.
I took a shop vac and added air to the burn pot and it went nuclear. That determined  either a weak exhaust fan or leaks that interfered with enough combustion air. Next I cleaned out the intake by jacking up the 300 pound stove and as you can see solid caked ash came out. I still have to replace the feed motor and check the connection fan,but progress is being made

My Englander is just so much more simple. The air supply pushed through the fire pot and continues through the stove. At least now this thing by will hold a fire.I know the fire is not much, but the fire pit has to be full to keep the air doing it's jobl Once the red coals are built maybe the thing will put out some real heat.

All that dirt you see came from the air intake with no chance this stove, a Quadrafire 1200 could hold and build a flame.
