squonk 45,064 #1 Posted July 3, 2025 (edited) Bought an 875 from a friend months ago. He got it from his neighbor. Hauled fire wood most of it's life. When I got it I noticed a little flex when the park pawl is engaged. Expected to find a cracked F plate or loose/ missing trans mounting bolts. Looked it all over and couldn't see anything. Was out mowing today and it felt like the seat got loose. Got off and nope the seat was tight..Got back on and my top half went one way and the bottom half went the other way. Looked down and found this! The F plate looks ok so hopefully a quick buzz job from Billy the Welder! Edited July 3, 2025 by squonk 5

ri702bill 10,966 #5 Posted July 3, 2025 It looks like it has a nervous switch! I've seen the F plates cracked out before, but not like that.

Pullstart 68,616 #10 Posted July 4, 2025 (edited) Flex seal? I believe if you spray it in a woven pattern, it’ll give better holding properties! Edited July 4, 2025 by Pullstart 2 1

I was told it was all shipped to Michigan so the Emergency Depts. there could quickly seal up head wounds from tractors falling from shop ceilings.
adsm08 3,981 #12 Posted July 5, 2025 Have you considered drilling some holes on either side of the break and stitching it up with zip ties? 1

Pullstart 68,616 #18 Posted July 6, 2025 This kind of tells me that any time I get the chance to weld the inside of this joint (yellow lines), I should. It’s wild how much stress is in that spot, but how the inside is not welded. It’s like adding a double shear tab to a drag link. That’s always way more stable!
rjg854 12,716 #19 Posted July 7, 2025 I'm surprised that it only broke on the one side. I would have thought the stress would cause the other side to do the same thing.
