John2189 536 #1 Posted June 23 I need to free up some space in my garage so the two wheel horses will be put outside. Been trying to sell them, they are in the classifieds now. Would it be better to cover them with a blue tarp, or just put them out uncovered? One is a c165 with a mowing deck and the other is a 656 with a sickle mower I hate to keep them outside, but right now I have no choice. john
HyperPete 865 #2 Posted June 23 (edited) How about a cheapie "enclosure" from Harbor Fraught or similar? Edited June 23 by HyperPete
kpinnc 14,563 #3 Posted June 23 (edited) I would not use a blue tarp. It holds condensation and will cause more corrosion than leaving it out in the weather. If you have no other choice, you can place the tarp in a tent configuration so air can circulate underneath the tarp, it will be much better. SylvanLakeWH 28,296 #4 Posted June 23 I built an 8' tall saw horse for a boat / trailer. 12' beam connecting them. Tarp over that. Keeps sun rain snow off while allowing air flow... cheap and easy...

squonk 43,697 #6 Posted June 23 I have seen those tarps almost weld themselves to the late 70's and up tractor paint finishes. Tarp off!
ineedanother 1,667 #7 Posted June 23 I use these when I have to. Not ideal but decent and they are vented. They easily last a couple years and would probably last longer with some Scotchguard or something similar that you might use on a camping tent or other canvas. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PNGZY87?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
