Retired Wrencher 5,738 #1 Posted Monday at 02:30 PM (edited) I have this start/Gen K241 that is different than any other 241 I ever had or seen. Buy the picks I hope someone can tell me if this was made for a Wheel Horse? In the 1st pick the drain is underneath the block? The belt guard hold downs. Last the inside of the belt guard. Do you think this is the first year of the 241? O was this made for another manufacturer . Also where the bottom bolts are there is no tap and die on the bearing plate by the flywheel. Retired Wrencher 5,738 #5 Posted Monday at 05:22 PM Thanks. I new I came to right place to ask.. The engine is .30 over with minimal scoring. But lots of black suit on head and block. Will clean it up. This is for my 1056 it had a bad engine in it. With the governed arm bolted to the block was strip threads. And a small pice busted off. Can you still get a nice brown on a spark plug tip. Been a while since this has happened.

squonk 43,493 #8 Posted Monday at 05:37 PM The 953 was technically 9 3/4 HP. I replaced the engine in mine with a rebuilt K321 long block from richmondred. Ironically it came with the same oil pan with the drain in the bottom.
953 nut 59,360 #9 Posted Monday at 06:22 PM The 953 engine had a different carburetor and cylinder head part number from the 1054. The base pans would be the same and if desired the block could be bolted up to other oil pans.

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,512 #17 Posted yesterday at 10:37 AM Makes sense it is off a 1054. I probably got it when I purchased a 1054 as a spare motor. Good luck with it Gary.
