davem1111 2,156 #17 Posted June 24 Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone!! I was out hiking, camping, and kayaking in the Red River Gorge area in KY since Thursday. Got home around dinner time yesterday, so I'm just checking in here now. Much appreciated! This is from the top of a peak called "Cloud Splitter". You can see a little section of the Red River below, in the center. Elevation change from the river up to where I am is about 700 feet. Had to scramble up some rock to get up the last part of it. I've done some whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River (near the old Olympic facility) as a "participating passenger" but nothing more exciting than that.
