Thought the 10.50’s needed a wider rim?

I've been running 10.5 tires on the older '70s rims for several years. No problem.

Interesting, either way the 310 has a 36” deck, I think that with the 9.50’s the rear may be wider than the deck anyway.  Maybe this is an excuse to get a 42”?

If you have one to try first i would.  My 310-8 had a fresh oem part +0.030 rebuild on the M10 and it liked the 36" alot more than the 42.  My C100 has the 42, it does it if the grass is dry, and not long

I want a 48 for my 416-H, things never pop up in the south unless its part of a "lot" of stuff i dont need.

There’s a brandy new one on CL, but they want over 2K for it.

My 23x9.50-12’s came in on Tuesday, yesterday was Craftsman day, so this morning I took the 22x9.50-12’s off the rims (these were the nicest inside of rims I have ever seen!) and put on the new 23x9.50-12’s, I like the look a lot better than the smaller tires and the AG’s.  All

brand new tires on an old machine, I think it identifies as a 416 now!

It’s getting there, got a little more to do still.  One thing I do like is the gas consumption compared to the Onan’s!

My 4.0 V6 4×4 Tacoma drinks less gas than an Onan. With a 310-8, you'll find yourself checking the fuel tank regularly, with a smile on yer face!

No twin engines here yet so I can't really compare. But I can definitely see the difference between Trina's little 8 HP and my super thirsty 16 HP engines...

In the 60’s fuel economy and emissions weren’t even on the engine makers’ radar (and radar was still its early days, too!)

This page has some interesting consumption stats.  Note the dips during the 1980 recession and the 2020 Covid epidemic.

This page has prices per gallon for the last 100 years with equivalents in 2022 dollars. The relatively high prices through the Depression until WWII rationing were a surprise to me.

One of the interesting things we learned at the WWII Museum in Wolfeboro NH.

Definitely worth a trip.
