peter lena 9,779 #76 Posted March 4 @Pullstart looks like a time capsule , personally would get , a penetrating oil recovery going on that paint , no rubbing of any kind , just let it soak in for weeks and retain ORIGINAL PATINA , would gently rub that stage down with clean MINERAL OIL soaked cloth , again no hard surface drag , you want to save whats there , will typically be in a perfect darker stage , rest of mechanical set up , lubrication drainage / refresh , especially fuel system , from tank to carb , like as much metal line as you can get , eliminate rubber hose , would go step by step , helped a guy with a similar old BOLENS , Wisconsin engine , that came out very well , good luck with it , pete
Pullstart 68,958 #77 Posted 4 hours ago I had a mini competition last year with @Andy N. to see who could run out of fuel the fastest at @WHX?? plow day. His 2 cylinder aircraft fuel sipper and my 16 horse one lunger with a tiny tank were very close competition. Today, I believe I increased my capacity. I might need some longer head bolts and some spacers to get the bottom a bit higher for better gravity feed to the carb.
Pullstart 68,958 #78 Posted 4 hours ago I found this old fuel cap with a blowed out gasket, and some bracketeering materials and started fabbing a little tink tink too. I love watching them flop around, and they are practical to keep rain out in the rare occasion a tractor is outdoors when it rains. 1
