953 wheel bearing

Am I correct in my 953 taking a 3/4” bore X 1 3/4” OD flanged bearing for front wheels ?

No, the front wheels on a 953, 1054 and GT-14 have tapered roller bearings like the ones used on most automobiles and trucks in the 1960s.

@Tonytoro416  another vital part of that set up  is  bushings , eliminating that LATERAL PLAY  , along with good lubrication , makes those bearings live , personally use the HILLMAN MACHINE BUSHINGS , 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 18 ga , 14 ga , for a solid snug fit , also like a vinyl snug fitting  end cap . have  that set up  on my 3 units , lots of hours , no play or bearing issues , local hardware store has the bushings . pete

These are tapered roller bearings, tighten the castle nut, back it off slightly and insert the cotter pin.

There will be a number stamped on both the race and bearing. Pretty sure they are a common set you can get at any auto parts store. The seal may need to be ordered though.

If you only needed the bearing that's fine. but if you needed the race (cup) also you would also need 3371
